charter cable internet upload speed

High Speed Internet, connected via cable modem, the download speed: 4549 kbps (568.6 KB / sec), load speed: 486 kbps (60.8 KB / sec) Charter Communications charges me a fortune, promises up to 5 Mbps, and assures me are speed up cousin! Also I tell my cable is very clear (NO). Can anyone help enlighten me, please?
That's about 5 mbps promised. 5 Mbps is not exceptionally fast but more probably not see the benefits of a faster connection.
