Can I use a USB Thumb Drive on a dish dvr 625?
I have a dish network DVR 625 system and I have noticed a USB port in the rear of the box. Can this USB port be used with a Thumb Drive or external hard drive? Or is this a proprietary port for Dish Network technicians only?
There is currently no USB functionality to the consumer on this model. On the ViP612™, ViP622™ or ViP722™ models, the consumer has the option to transfer recordings to a USB hard drive that is 40-750 GB in size. There is a one time activation fee of $30 to enable.
