dish network media center
I just bought an Acer Aspire M5630 and setup windows media center’s tv option using dish network. PLZ HELP!!!!

I Have a standard def setup box and have plenty of coaxial cords and a bunch of little wires with red bubbles on the bottom. Also, i have this slanted white thing that has two inputs labeled r1 and r2 that plugs into a usb port. I am at wits end and can’t come in contact with tech support and have no instructions. They give you instructions on how to plug in your keyboard and power cord but not how to setup something slightly difficult. If anyone can please help me i would be much appreciative and i thank you in advance
I did what you said but i still get the same result. I only have one ir blaster but i forgot to mention that i also have another cable with a plastic trapezoid thing at one end and the other is a input jack. Does that have to do with anything and once again thank you for your time

The slanted white thing sounds like your IR receiver. Plug it into a USB port on the computer. The wire things with red bubbles are the IR blasters. It sounds like you have two tuner boards, or a dual one. The IR blaster plugs into the back of the IR receiver. The red things should have stickum on them-you probably have to remove tape to expose the stickum. They then stick onto the front of each STB (if you have two tuner boards or a dual tuner board, you need two STBs). The blasters have to be placed over the IR sensor on each STB. Be careful, there are numerous cases of people putting them on in the wrong position. The way this all works, is that the IR receiver picks-up your computer remote control signal and through the blasters changes the STB channel. When you’re using the computer to do time shift recording, the computer tunes the STBs through the blasters. I’m assumming you have two tuners, or a dual, because you indicated you had more than one of the blasters. It is possible that they gave you a full set, and you only have one tuner. In that case, just hook up the one blaster to the one STB and plug it into R1. After you’re all plugged -in, go to the MCE set-up and run through it, learning your computer to match your STBs remote control signals, and setting-up the TV guide.
