Why are my DVDs played in an HD player coming in 480i instead of 1080i like my tv channels do on my HDTV?
I have dish network and a Samsung surround sound entertainment system which is HD and up-scales HD movies. My tv channels play in full 1080 but when I put in a dvd to watch it is in 480. I don’t understand when everything is HD. What could be the problem? Ive tried switching up how I plug up my dvd player but its always the same. I just want my tv channels and dvd movies to be all 1080 like they should! Please help if you can! Thanks!
Im using component cables to get my tv stations from my satellite box and they are coming in 1080p. I have an HDMI cable and used it to hook up from my DVD player to the tv and it still said in the top corner of the screen 480p. I just dont understand!
you can also check your dvd player to see if you can manually upscale your movies from the menu setup
mine has that and I always set it to what I want just to avoid confusion like you have
