dish network vip722 dvr
recording from Dish Tivo via TV converter box?
I have HD via a dish network VIP722 DVR with a TIVO type recording device built in.
I want to record from the TIVO onto a standard VCR/CD recorder.
Can I use the co-ax output to go from the Dish box, to a TV converter, and from there to the VCR/CD recorder?
Will this scheme work? If not, why not?
Thanks

Several issues with your idea…

First, I have no idea why you are trying to insert a TV converter box into this setup. I believe it is unnecessary.
Secondly, I’m not to sure of using the coaxial output. It strikes me as similar to using an RF modulator, which is a pretty awful option. I am pretty sure this Home Distribution RF output is for an analog TV and if that is right, there is no need for a converter box. But whatever the case, without the converter, it should work (though I know nothing of your recorder).
However, I can clearly see that you have HDMI, S-video, component video, and composite video outputs for TV1 and composite video output for TV2. I’d guess you want to hook to TV2 and I’d guess that about 99% of them have a composite input, so that connection should work just fine too.
