computer tv tuner reviews

TV tuner card question?
I want a TV tuner that can not fit a TV in my bedroom. I went on Newegg to get a card, but I'm constantly reading reviews of the mixture on each card I am. First, how do these things? What I'm getting, I have plug in my cable and I can watch TV on my computer. Will I get the same channels that my school has, or will I receive what is out of the internet? Second Instead, it is a PCIe x1 card perform better than PCI? Third, what is defined as a good TV tuner? What features should be standard on a card? Thanks
That's right … connecting cable and an opportunity. Same channels received by the school (if they use the same cable). PCIe x1 only required for HD TV. Because it contains data from four times as much part of the card needs more bandwidth provided by PCI compared to PCIe. See an integrated MPEG-1 / 2 hardware encoder. Software coding literally take your PC to an end. Hauppauge suggest. It http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/prods.html do something else and are excellent. I own three of their products and have never had any problems at all. If you are using Windows Vista Home Premium, Ultimate or XP Media Center then do not need any software or drivers (not installed). These versions of Windows include Media Center. It detects the Hauppauge card instantly and will guide step by step to configure it. regards, Philip T
